Diameter of shafting to be at least equal

to that stated on page 111 paragraph 195 of "Instructions 98 to the survey of Passenger steamships" issued by Board

of Trade 1913.

Hull Internally to be examined once in 12 months together with Ballast and Peak Tanks, bulkheads, frames floors, etc. Watertight doors to be examined once in 12 months to ascer- tain efficiency and worked to satisfaction of surveyor. Machinery upper brasses of all bearings to be taken off, thrust shoes taken out and covers of tunnel blocks taken off for examination of shafting cylinder covere and junk ringe lifted for examination of cylinders and pistons. The slide valve covers removed velves taken out feed and bilge pump velves removed. Air and circulating pump covers lifted, pump chambers buckets and velves opened up for examination at least once in 12 months.

Boilers all boilers to be opened up, furnace fronts bridges and firebars removed, the furnace combustion chambers, and inside of boilers to be thoroughly cleaned to permit a

Safety Valves to be adjusted and locked to working pressure allowed after survey of boilers.

Load Line if ship has no load line issued by classification society or B of T then must be measured by B of T rules of

1909.

Boats to be thoroughly examined at least every 12 months
